ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — Three veterinary projects appear to be moving forward in St. Johns County, according to county building permit records and company websites.
Two of the projects are tied to Livewell Animal Hospital. One future hospital is planned at 3735 Longleaf Pine Parkway, Suite 218, in the Shoppes of Aberdeen shopping center in Fruit Cove. A second Livewell location is planned at 2781 State Road 16 near the St. Augustine Premium Outlets.
St. Johns County permit records show one of the Livewell projects is valued at approximately $1.2 million.
County records show the permit for the Longleaf Pine Parkway location was issued on April 10. No opening date is listed on Livewell Animal Hospital’s St. Augustine webpage.
A separate veterinary project also appears to be moving forward at 35 Summerlin Lane, Suite 103, in St. Augustine. County permit records list the project as Priority Pet Urgent Care.
Livewell’s St. Augustine webpage says its hospitals will offer services including personalized care plans and preventative medications for pets.
The company’s website says the locations will serve neighborhoods including Araquey, Anastasia and St. Augustine South. The planned projects would add veterinary options in multiple parts of the St. Augustine area.
Livewell Animal Hospital’s website also lists services such as vaccinations, surgical procedures, dental care, laser therapy, urgent care, on-site pharmacies and laboratory services.
The expansion comes as St. Johns County continues to grow rapidly. U.S. Census Bureau estimates show the county added roughly 11,400 residents between 2024 and 2025.
